On Tuesday, June 21st, E.S. Wagner Company was the low bidder for the International Park Storage Basin which is part of the $521 million Toledo Waterways Initiative. This project, which is located between Miami Street and Main Street and runs past the popular “Docks” restaurants in Toledo, was designed to reduce the frequency of combined sewer overflows from the City of Toledo collection system to the Maumee River. Our current schedule calls for work to start in August of this year with a projected completion date in the fall of 2018. The storage basin and diversion chambers at Nevada Street and Main Street combine to require almost 15,000 cubic yards of structural concrete, around 3,800 wall feet of driven sheet piling, and over 4,200 feet of 84” and 108” conveyance piping reaching 28 feet in depths. We are very excited to have the opportunity to construct this high profile local project which will give our structure crews and trucking resources great work opportunities for almost the next two years.
